T-Rex Cares focuses on three core areas in support of our community:

  1. The Next Generation by preparing youth for the future and help them overcome the numerous challenges they face
  2. Those who served our Country especially veterans and their families because of the sacrifices they have made for us all
  3. The local community at large due to our heritage is as a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone)

Since Thanksgiving kicks off the biggest giving season for the year, we become particularly focused on the needs in our local community. In mid-November, T-Rex employees rallied behind a goal of providing ten Thanksgiving meals to families in need in the Prince Georges County area. Due to the generosity of our employees, we exceeded our goal and were able to provide a turkey and fixings to twelve families. Our employee donations included filling two cars with non-perishable items estimating over $1,000 and it also included a cash donation of over $400. All of the proceeds went to the Bowie Interfaith Pantry in Bowie, MD.

“Our busy employees really appreciate the opportunity to contribute locally and we work to vet and partner with worthy and reputable organizations so employees have a platform to do that. Employees appreciate knowing that they are making a difference and it’s great to see them respond with such enthusiasm. Collectively we are impacting our community in real ways,” Valerie Utsey, Chief Human Resource Officer .

T-Rex has now transitioned to the December holidays with a Toys for Tots program partnering with Dream Big to provide toys for the kids and a gift for each parent. We will have an update on this to share shortly!
